The PTA is a fun way to get involved in school events and to meet many parents, students, and staff. We have lots of volunteer opportunities and encourage everyone to get involved! Our PTA is committed to sponsoring and providing educationally enriching programs for the students here at Green Elementary. In addition to the money used to enrich classroom curricula, we are currently sponsoring an art teacher in the classroom each month, the La Jolla Playhouse San Diego Zoo , an annual yearbook, and a garden project. We also commit to being TV free during No TV Week, and show our gratitude to the tremendous staff here at Green with Staff Appreciation Week.
To support these and future programs, our fundraising efforts include Jog-A-Thon, Box Tops collections, eScrip, and restaurant nights. We also have our annual Gecko Gala, which is a parents night of fun, food and bidding on auction items so generously donated by Green families, businesses and community supporters.
We are dedicated to the athletic component of our school as well, sponsoring a morning Running Club, Junior Olympics and our swim program, wherein every child receives 3 weeks of swim and water safety lessons each year.
